We are in love with this place! Yesterday after Colter got done with his morning nap, we headed to the awesome rec center about a mile north of the village. We went for a swim and Colter was once again mesmerized by the kids jumping about and the bright lights overhead. I had a parenting fail by forgetting swim diapers and I thought that I could just use a fresh diaper since we weren't going to be in there very long. Lets just say the diaper when we were finished was about 1/2 of Colter's weight. woops! At least we know they are absorbent!
Colter tried bananas for the second time and he seemed to like them quite a bit more this time around.
After his (LONG!) afternoon nap, we braved the rain storm and went into the village for a yummy crepe and chocolate croissant.
We stopped at a fun hat store along the way and Colter did some modeling.
We spent the afternoon playing inside since it was so windy/rainy outside. We are getting such sweet smiles these days.
Today was an absolute blast. We hired our first baby sitter apart from family and close friends and went on the zip trek. While Colter slept an hour and 40 minutes, we went on 5 different zip lines through the gorgeous forest over glacier fed rivers. We felt a little like Swiss Family Robinson as we walked along suspension bridges in the tree tops. The longest zipline had a drop of 220 feet! What an exhilarating experience!
We had quite the cast of characters in our tour group. 8 guys in their early 20's from Japan who were visiting their friend who was living in the US. Only the one guy spoke English and i was getting a little nervous when the guide would explain safety rules for a couple of minutes and then the guy would utter a few words to summarize. Everyone was alive at the end though! The best part was when the tour guy said "this guy is going to take your picture as you jump off." They thought the guy was going to take their picture right then, so they huddled into a small corner on the plank with their peace signs up.
After we got back, we went back into the village and checked out the Olympic rings and the awesome treehouse/park right by our condo.
This afternoon we ventured back into the village yet again and got some tasty ice cream !!
We also discovered that a white sheet can be super entertaining!
The sun is back, and we couldn't be having a better time!

Miss you guys already! Wish we could share some Cows with ya!
What fantastic memories and beauty with your wonderful family.
Cannot imagine floating over the rivers and trees.
Lovin' your pictures! We love this place too! Such a beautiful area, ...especially when you're on vacation to enjoy it! :)
I'm kind of glad we didn't hang out with you guys on Saturday... I have been sick since Sunday and I might have given you guys "the bug"! So of course I was sad to not see you... but I think it was for your family's own good! :)
Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip! ~Amie
You all look like you are having a great time. Wish we were there. We love Whistler too.
So beautiful up there....
Colter, I'm diggin' that hat you're sporting. I think you'd be perfect mushing a dogsled with that baby on!
Zip lining sounds right up my alley, need to try it out. Little man is really rolling now...wont' be long before he's crawling. Watch out world!
See you all in a little over a week...party on Garth!
