Ben set his alarm almost every day last week at 3 am to wake up and watch live sailboat racing for the Americas Cup. He reminded me that this only happens once every 4 years and that he doesn't watch any other sports..
Here he is one morning..

playing catch up
It's amazing how quick two weeks can fly by before I realize I haven't posted anything in a while! We've busy with lots of fun little things!
dinner w/ friends

getting my hair highlighted while Ben drooled over boats at the Seattle boat show with a fellow boat lover
driving by our new house w/out making the neighbors think we're obsessed.

babysitting our favorites

watching the superbowl. Side note here. I was prepared to wow the crowd with a new recipe I found on Rachel Ray. Mac n Cheese jalapeno poppers. Doesn't that just scream amazing??? Well........ it wasn't.. it wasn't even close a 4 star in the bites ranking system! such a disappointment.
Anyway, back to the regular scheduled program..
celebrating Valentine's day with breakfast at Volunteer Park Cafe, afternoon spent buying $75 worth of products and breaking even (oh the life of a freebie shopper) and a delicious dinner at home. We were successful with especially one of the recipes we made.. I am now a little obsessed. If buying asparagus were to put you on a watch list.. I'd be at the top.

and
spending President's Day getting massages and eating amazing gyros on the waterfront in Kirkland.
Lots of fun!

chocolate croissants and something even sweeter
This past weekend we were blessed to spend some time with Jess, Mark and the kiddos. We went to a bakery in West Seattle called Bakery Nouveau. If you know Ben, you know that sometimes he gets stuck on something and will talk about it frequently. This has happened with Jack in the Box milkshakes, kaiser rolls, and now Bakery Nouveau. You can imagine his excitement when we ventured to the bakery on Saturday. After perusing the cases he came back with his careful order. "I would like a chocolate croissant, macaroon, and an egg/bacon croissant. oh- and a cappicuinno. But don't forget the macaroon." I smiled inside. I love this man. I love that he can find happiness in such small things. After clarifying that he did in fact want all of these items, he reminded me that we don't get over to this part of town often. I gave in and ordered a 2nd chocolate croissant for myself :) It was delicious.
