chocolate croissants and something even sweeter

This past weekend we were blessed to spend some time with Jess, Mark and the kiddos. We went to a bakery in West Seattle called Bakery Nouveau. If you know Ben, you know that sometimes he gets stuck on something and will talk about it frequently. This has happened with Jack in the Box milkshakes, kaiser rolls, and now Bakery Nouveau. You can imagine his excitement when we ventured to the bakery on Saturday. After perusing the cases he came back with his careful order. "I would like a chocolate croissant, macaroon, and an egg/bacon croissant. oh- and a cappicuinno. But don't forget the macaroon." I smiled inside. I love this man. I love that he can find happiness in such small things. After clarifying that he did in fact want all of these items, he reminded me that we don't get over to this part of town often. I gave in and ordered a 2nd chocolate croissant for myself :) It was delicious.

While I'm a brownie and cookie girl myself, I will say that a good macaroon and/or a chocolate croissant are definite A-Pluses on a dessert menu!! It sounds like a charming little place!

Kaiser rolls....if I could just get a Kaiser roll. Ben, I've had Kaiser rolls 2 days in a row for lunch...every time I buy one I think of you! House is really coming along, I know you're both excited, as you should be. Looking forward to seeing it and cooking some tasty treats for all. Party on Garth!
