Ben's big 3-0

Ben finally caught up to his old lady (me) when he turned 30 on May 1st. There is so much I love about this man! He has the HUGEST servant heart... he honestly never complains about helping around the house, watching the kids when I get sick, etc. He's always encouraging me to go out with friends and get some alone time, and he's great about making sure we get out on dates too. He is so dedicated in his job- he's always trying to help his customers and loves learning about each business. He will always go above and beyond to help people. He's super silly and energetic with the kids.. something I so appreciate at the end of a long day.

Because he is so wonderful, he was celebrated over many days!

On his actual birthday, we filled the living room with 30 balloons and memories, lined the street on his drive home with signs, and we got to go out to a nice steak dinner at Daniel's Broiler, right on Lake Union. We happened to walk by the MOHAI museum and it was the 1st Thursday of the month which makes it free entry.

Over the weekend the party continued! Ben went mountain biking with some friends, while I took the kids to Sesame Street Live.

That Sunday I made some crazy good carne asada because Ben's bday request was California burritos which has carne asada, gucamole, cheese, and.. wait for it.. french fries! I didn't partake in the french fry part, but everything else was delicious!

My friend Jenni makes incredible cakes and since baking is not really my thing, I asked her to make a cake that I have been dreaming about for over a year.

Happy Birthday to you my special man! We love you SO much!
