Ben's staycation

It is always special to have Ben at home during vacation because he gets to experience normal life with us. The first weekend we tried out a new park called lord hill, that I've been wanting to go to for a while. The park was a series of trails through old growth forest. I love that colter is old enough to walk on his own and explore. He loved picking up sticks, digging in random holes, and hiding with his cousins. There is something so refreshing about being outside in the woods.

After naps, we got chipotle to go and ate at the train park. The fun continued with menchies afterward.

On Sunday we went to church and died Easter eggs.

On Monday we ventured downtown and rode the great Seattle wheel. We've been wanting to do this forever and it was such a fun experience! My favorite part was going out over the water and the incredible views! Afterward, we hit up the arcade for some games and the carousel.

Tuesday was a low key day . We went to lowes, and Barnes and noble for some train table time. We also were ambitious with having the kids do some crafts. It didn't get totally out of hand until the end and Maddie did surprisingly well with fingerpainting for the first time.

Another day I went on a special one on one date with Colter and then met Ben and Maddie at Cafe Rio for lunch.. yum!

On Wednesday night we went to watch my brother compete in his work basketball championship.

We were supposed to go camping in port Townsend for the last part of the week, but unfortunately the weather looked so crummy that we decided to stay home. We were both disappointed, but we're hoping to get out there sometime during the summer. Because Ben wanted to camp so bad, he pitched our tent out on the deck and decided to camp with Colter. I was super skeptical and totally expected them to be inside in an hour when Colter wouldn't go to sleep. Somehow he fell asleep earlier than he normally does inside and slept all night! I couldn't believe it. Maybe Colter belongs outside all the time. Haha

On Thursday we went to the indoor trampoline park and much to Colter's delight, the foam out was open again. We ran like crazy and were all wiped out by the end.

I am so incredibly blessed by my man and how hard he works, but also how much fun he is to have around! Love you hubby.
