It's hard to keep up regular posting now that i'm runnin solo during the week, but I'm going to try to keep going!
Life with two is starting to feel more and more normal, although there are definite moments when I want to run and hide or shout hymns at the top of my lungs because it is absolutely insane. The hardest hour for me is between 11:30-12:30. Trying to feed Colter lunch, nurse Madison, convince him its time for bed, console Madison who is so tired, is quite the party. One day last week Colter was not coming in from the garage so I started nursing Madison when I heard a crash. Colter decided to climb into the stroller and it tipped over. I left Madison on the couch in the middle of a diaper change and when I came back inside, pee was dripping all down the couch as she happily kicked her legs. Within about 20 minutes, all was quiet, but there are definitely more adventures in multi tasking with two!
I didn't take any pics from our first week because I was too busy trying to stay alive, but we went to the train park with friends one day, went to Edmonds one day and saw a record 6 trains in a little over an hour, walked to our neighborhood park, and visited a play gym another day.
The weekends are glorious when dad is off. The weather has been absolutely beautiful recently, which we are all thankful for, including my postpartum hormones.
It's hard to believe Madison is over 6 weeks old. It is really going by fast. I laugh when I look back at my blog posts with Colter at 2 months and apparently he had a favorite toy and favorite activities? Sorry baby girl, but right now you are pretty much in the ergo, the car seat, or having some awake time on a blanket hopefully avoiding launched train cars or the lovely affection of your toddler brother. You do like baths when we squeeze them in, but most of all you just love to watch what is going on around you.
Madison is a really happy baby. She has been giving us wide grin smiles for weeks now and besides riding in the car seat, doesn't get upset too often. I think she is going to be very social- she is always looking around the room for someone to lock eyes with, and will follow people walking by. She's a great night sleeper- with only one or two wake ups between 9-5:30/6. She typically sleeps in until 9 which makes me crazy to think if she was my first baby and I could sleep in that late. It takes a long time to get her to bed- she will trick us with her eyes totally closed, but the minute we set her down she flips her eyes right open. I've gotten a few sweet coos from her which I absolutely love.
When I see pictures of the four of us, I feel absolutely blessed. I'm tired, I get frustrated, my patience runs thin. But man alive, I love these babies.
