Easter 2013

Easter weekend was some of the best weather yet, and we took advantage of it by being outside every second we could! We kicked off the weekend Saturday morning at the train park for an Easter egg hunt. Colter was of course more into the trains, but did enjoy collecting rocks in his basket :) We missed the memo that we were supposed to fill the eggs, so we were the lame ones putting out empty eggs minus the two that Ben filled - one with a rubber rat and one with a unifex cube. .. i'm sure the kids that got those are shouting with joy.

There are just no better parks than the train park. I love it.

Saturday afternoon we met up with the Heavilands for a picnic dinner at UW to take in the amazing cherry blossoms with about 1,000,000 other people. I just love this time of year.

I love this series of pics. We were trying to get a cousins pic and it ended up being quite the process! Can you guess who didn't have a nap or who else wanted to keep climbing the stairs? Jessie was trying everything to get the kids' attention and starting singing "firehouse dance." All of a sudden Saisha stood up and started working her moves. We all about died of laughter.

Easter morning we had crepes, strawberries and fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast, and then went to an amazing Easter service. I love singing hymns, watching baptisms, and having a choir sing. What a beautiful celebration.

After church, we went to the Grants for a brunch and another egg hunt that Colter was much more enthusiastic about.

We had Easter dinner at one of Jessie's friends' houses. They have an amazing backyard with everything that a boy could want- an awesome play house, tons of bats, balls, cars to ride, a net to climb up a tree, a trampoline.. the list goes on. I was only sort of joking when I told my sister's friend Jackie that we were going to leave Colter in the play house overnight because he loved it so much. It was such a perfect end to a wonderful weekend celebrating Jesus.
