Ben and I got to see Nicklecreek at Chateau St Michelle. It was a perfect night and an incredible venue. The sky turned all sorts of brilliant colors as the sun went down. We brought a picnic and enjoyed such beautiful music that we have both loved since high school.
We finally finished our backyard after living here for four years. We added a planter in the corner, more grass, and put in some flagstone stepping stones. Really happy with how it turned out.
We met Nana in Edmonds for some park and hot cocoa time
We went to Idaho
The Kirkland summer concert series is one of my favorite summer events! The best kids bands, outside in best beach ever! We saw Johnny Bregar, which is probably Colter's favorite kid band artist. He plays a lot of songs about trains :) After the concert, we went to the beach. It was overcast, but still really beautiful out!
Ben and I went out on a fun date to get floats at the root beer store
My brother and sister in law found out they are going to have a little boy!!! They had their gender reveal party at our house. Mom and I had bought 2 outfits a boy and a girl one, and then Ben looked at the ultrasound picture and put the correct outfit in the bag. They are still deciding whether his name will be Noah or Sawyer. This is definitely the season for baby boys! So far I know of 4 people having boys in the next few months.
We had a super fun Saturday starting with celebrating Miss Maddie's 1/2 birthday, then member's only hour at the Children's museum, followed by a pit stop at the Heavilands lemonade stand/Cromwell park summer festival, then finishing off the night at Agua Verde.
We all caught a horrible stomach virus and were sick off and on during a week. I couldn't stay inside so when we were feeling healthy. We took little trips and discovered this neat little wastewater treatment plant visitors center. It had beautiful grounds to walk on, and an interesting water exhibit.
We visited the library. Each kid has their own routine that works pretty well. Colter usually finds a train book and sprawls out on the floor and proceeds to shout out anything interesting he finds "BNSF! SANTA FE! TUNNEL!" Maddie wanders around, pulling random books off the shelves and putting them in a huge bucket of go back books.
I took the kids and Saisha to Snoqualmie Falls and the train museum at the Snoqualmie Railroad depot. The kids loved climbing on the old steam trains and visiting the museum store.
Visiting dad downtown never gets old!
On one of our adventure drives, we visited the Kenmore sea plane harbor where we saw a few planes take off.
My good friend Keri and her husband Joshua came into town from Chicago for a wedding. We rode the water taxi over to Alki and ate at Marination Station. She makes me laugh so hard and my face ached by the end of the night from so much smiling.
So long to August!
