Ben and I celebrated 6 years of marriage at the end of September. Even though 6 years isn't that long, it is still pretty spectacular to think back to when we got married and realize we had no clue what we were really doing :) We're still learning and growing every day and learning to love each other well. I love this man with all my heart. I'm so thankful for his support, unwavering dedication to our family, desire to serve even when it's not convenient or fun, and his willingness to provide well for our family.
We hadn't been on an overnight without kids for close to 2 years.. we were SO ready to get out of town! A few people recommended the Blue Moon Beach House and it ended up being even better than we expected.
This is the view from our deck. It was so quiet when we first arrived. The only noise was the water lapping against the side of the building. It had just poured, so it smelled divine. No cars, no people, nothing. We looked down at the water and saw a family of otters slowly swimming through the still water. I don't think i'll forget that moment for a long time.
The next morning we lounged in the Adirondack chairs and read. It was so nice to have a slow morning. I was determined to sit outside for breakfast to take advantage of the beautiful view. It was definitely chilly and we only ended up staying outside for half of the breakfast. The meal was INCREDIBLE!!!! The first day we had gingerbread waffles with a yogurt sauce and fresh pears. Out of this world!
Later in the morning we went on our outing- a zipline tour! We had done a zipline tour before in Whistler, so we weren't nervous and kind of knew what to expect. I happened to find a gift certificate at costco for the tour plus go pro cameras, so we were able to capture all of our zips on film. Both of our favorites was the longest one. Such a fun experience!
We then went to Camano State Park and took in the incredible view
We ate dinner at the Camano Island Inn and soaked in this delicious view.
That night we got back to our place and the hosts set up a fire and gave us smore supplies. It was such a sweet added touch.
I will never forget that weekend. It was so wonderful, fulfilling, and restorative. Happy Anniversary to us!
