Hood River

We ventured to Hood River a little earlier than normal this year. No matter how many times we go, I can't get enough of this place! Colter was at the perfect age to explore this amazing little city! We did all of our usual activities with a few new things this year.

Courtney's mom's house was absolutely perfect for Colter. They have two dogs, one of whom was absolutely fantastic with Colter. They also had some birds, an amazing yard, and even some fun new toys! Every morning Ben and I took Colter out for a walk around the neighborhood. It was such a beautiful time of day, with amazing scenery. It was such a blessing to be able to catch up with each other so much.

Not a bad view to wake up to every morning.

One of the highlights of the trip was taking Colter to a park that I saw 7 years ago during our first HR trip. I thought "man it would be fun to take a kid there someday." It was so awesome to see our little man at that park going down slides, etc. A dream come true!

During the day we did lots of different activities including going to Andrew's for pizza, picnicking down by the water, visiting a few different parks, walking on some nearby trails, doing a short hike to a nearby waterfall, and playing in the yard.

Our annual pit stop to Andrew's pizza

When Colter was asleep we had a blast playing games, going out on a double date with Courtney and John to a local brewery, and watching a movie.

The drive to and from HR is absolutely gorgeous! We made a few pit stops at some amazing places.

Perhaps the most adventurous part of the trip was sleeping in the same room with Colter. We definitely had some interesting moments the first couple of nights. Another humorous moment was when we were at Multnomah falls and I saw a group of workers cleaning up the rest site. I started to walk Colter over to them to talk about the tools they were using, etc. until I realized there was a sheriff standing next to them and they were all wearing orange. woops!

We can't wait to go back next year!

Stunning scenery and DOGS too! Now junior just needs one of his own, maybe a weimaraner eh? Get a little saddle and you're in business. Sounds like you guys are having a blast, so happy you're fortunate to be able to take advantage of this opportunity. See you next week!
