toilet fiasco

Last week our 6 month old dishwasher decided not to drain anymore so we have a service technician coming out later this week.. how in the world a brand new appliance has issues already is beyond me, but at least it's still under warranty!

On Saturday morning the toilet in our bathroom was not flushing all the way despite Ben's best plunging efforts so we started thinking we might also need to bring in a plumber to look at our 6 month old plumbing!

Here is the scene that took place:

Ben (in bathroom still plunging): "Where is the toilet paper roll holder?"

Me (in bed, falling asleep): "Oh last night when I was going to the bathroom in the dark, the toilet roll shot off and landed in the trash, so I'm assuming it's in there."

Ben: "You need to come in here and see this."

Me (not wanting to get up): "Just tell me what it is"

Ben: "No, you need to come here and see this."

I walk into the bathroom and in the bottom of the toilet is the toilet paper roll holder!! I laughed so hard. I have NO idea how it shot off and landed IN the toilet when I was sitting on the toilet! Granted I was 1/2 asleep so maybe it landed on my lap and when I stood up, it might have fallen in?

Either way, it was hilarious. I'm so glad we didn't call a plumber out. I'm sure they've seen weirder things, but it might not have been as funny to pay someone $100 to show us the prize from the pipes.
