Mr. or Ms. Banana

Our little one is now 20 weeks old and the length of a banana. We had our "big" ultrasound last Thursday and got to spend close to an hour ooing and awwing over our little prince or princess. The experience was incredible. We got to see so many intricate details being woven together to make this little human being. One of my favorite parts was when the tech was discussing the frontal view of the face and the baby let out two huge yawns right there on the screen. My other favorite part was when the tech was trying to get a picture of the baby's right foot and he/she was being so stubborn. As much as the tech moved my belly and had me roll on to different sides, the baby kept burrowing it's feet further and further. Of course, when the radiologist came in to take another picture of my lovely cervix, the baby's foot was center stage and she got a clear picture.

Everything looks great with the baby! Now the anticipation of finding out the baby's gender is killing me. We were handed a sealed envelope (entirely too dark to see through) and now we wait 1 more day until our gender reveal party to find out the moment we've been dreaming about. Ben and I are both team blue all the way, but we could be surprised.

The report we got stated that I am carrying "a single live intrauterine fetus in tranverse head left position", but all I care to do is praise God for this miracle He already knows and loves. As much as I worry about parenthood, nothing beats knowing we are all in His hands.
