We spent a cold morning down in Edmonds. We were the only ones on the beach.. couldn't figure out why.. it was only cold and drizzly! Maddie was all about not wearing a jacket and shoes, and super into fishing with giant seaweed.
We attended an auction for a client at Ben's work. It was held at the Seattle Aquarium so we got to enjoy the exhibits throughout the night.
The kids and I ventured to forest park in Everett. It's amazing how much quieter parks are now that kids are in school. We had the whole park to ourselves. Last year, Colter would have loved to have the whole place to ourselves, but this year he's all about having a friend at parks, and was disappointed when no one was showing up.
Adelle and I took the kids swimming at my mom's pool. A perfect, warm spot on drizzly days. The kids love rescuing people in the water, playing marco polo, and climbing out using the big ladder.
Ben and I had a great date night in Ballard. We had a fantastic dinner, dessert at simply desserts, and then stopped at Kerry Park for a great view.
That night we rented a fire pit in the middle of a corn maze at a pumpkin patch. We originally had a HUGE group coming, but because of the rain most people cancelled. It ended up quitting raining, and it was such a beautiful, fun night, eating pizza, making smores, and getting in trouble for picking corn. We finished the night with a sunset walk through the longest and most confusing corn maze ever!
I took Saisha and Maddie to a paint your own pottery place for Saisha's birthday. The girls had so much fun. Saisha definitely lastest longer on her princess, but Maddie had fun doing tons of stamps on paper towels. Afterwards we had some leaf throwing fun.
Ben got to go to a Seahwaks game and had INCREDIBLE seats!
Some of our old neighbors invited us to a local farm/pumpkin patch so we decided to join them on a whim. The kids loved feeding the animals, and picking out the perfect pumpkin!
Ben and Colter went on a little date to Richmond Beach where they helped complete this giant fort, and even saw a snake!
My mom was able to attend Colter's grandparent day tea at preschool. Such a gift that she lives close by. We weren't sure if he would get up on the stage and perform, but look at this little guy! So proud.
I have really cherished my one on one time with Maddie, especially before baby comes in just a few short months. While the weather was still decent, we visited a lot of local parks. This was in Edmonds and we had such a great time playing princess in her castle.
For my birthday/anniversary gift, we cashed in our credit card rewards and bought a ticket for me to visit my friend Keri in Chicago. I will definitely do a separate post on that trip, it was awesome! I'll post a separately on the trip.
While I was out of town, Ben took the kids on all kinds of incredible adventures.. the kids museum, the zoo, menchies.. they were well loved.
I missed my family so much. I couldn't believe how cute these two were when I saw them at the airport!
Pumpkin carving 2015.. pumpkin carving continues to be low on the list of enjoyment for the Crowl kids. There's always some initial enthusiasm when the top of the first pumpkin comes off, but after that, the excitement quickly fades and Ben is left with extremely complicated ideas on what to carve. This year we carved one, and then decided to see if the kids even noticed that we didn't finish the other two.. nope! I think we'll stick to other ways of decorating pumpkins until the excitement is more present!
Colter had a field trip to a pumpkin patch. It was such a cool, foggy morning. He had a blast with his friend Gideon. The field trip was appropriately topped off with an ice cream bar..
The kids are starting to play more and more together. It's awesome. Most of the time they "make mischief" as they call it. But sometimes, they get full stories going. This night they were taking care of their baby.
I decided to have the kids paint the pumpkins they got from the field trip. They were so into it, and it ended up being such a better experience than carving.
I started Maddie in a mom and me gymnastics class and she LOVES it. She gets such great exercise, and I do think her coordination and balance are improving. She's obsessed with her leotard and asks multiple times a day if it's "nastics" time. Again, i'm so thankful for this time i've been given with her.
Saisha organized a friends Halloween party . Everything was made up by her. It was so cute. There was bobbing for apples, playing with a random broom, and trick or treating room to room. So fun. Nana's wig was quite the hit!
I took the kids the rock museum and when their attention didn't last, we decided to change plans and take a trip on the monorail which always excites!
Then it was Halloween!
