This has been SUCH a wet March... apparently the wettest one on record. I have no idea how all the blossoms managed to come out because it seriously feels like we haven't seen the sun very much at all. Fortunately, when the blooms started to come out, so did the sun so we got to venture out on a couple fun outings to check out the beautiful scenery. I love this time of year when things start to come alive again!
We first went to the daffodil fields where it was super super muddy.. like quick sand mud. Regardless of the mud and how many times we had to rescue Colter, it was absolutely gorgeous. Daffodils are such a happy flower.. they are some of my favorite blooms. You just have to smile when you see them.
The next day we went to the University of Washington for the cherry blossoms. It was the busiest time yet.. we had to park on the south part of campus! It is always one of the best spots for people watching.. at least one wedding being photographed, lots of mullets and interesting outfits, several people trying to do model type shoots like holding scarves behind their head, and always 8 million dogs with people crowding around them taking pictures of them. But man alive, those blossoms are incredible. I love the texture of the trunks, the kids high up on the branches, the delicate petals fluttering to the ground, the softness of the color. I love it.
