Happy 4th of July!

We had such a wonderful first 4th of July with our little man. The amazing weather made it just that much better- it feels like we are finally having a summer! Our poor trees are so confused- they started to turn red because it had been so cold, now it is warm and they don't know what to do!We left early Saturday and met the Heavilands at Cama beach. This was Colter's second trip- you may remember we took him when he was a little 5 week old. We had absolutely gorgeous weather all day. We got some quality time with the Heavilands while a 3 kids napped at the same time in the tiny cabin and after they all went to bed at 7.

During the day we played on the beach, went for some short walks around the park, swung on
the swings, ate some ice cream, and ate lots of good food.

We were back home for the actual 4th of July and I got to experience the Edmonds 4th of July parade that I have wanted to go to since we moved up here! The parade was everything I
imagined! It is so fun to run into people you know- it feels like a small town out of a movie.

That afternoon we made some chocolate gelato (Ben decided that we need to start a tradition of making a weekly ice cream flavor during the summer.. I think it's one of his best ideas yet!) and we also met up with the Heavilands at the Lake Ballinger beach park. Colter was fully decked out in his trunks and aqua socks, but it was a little too chilly for the little man.

Such a wonderful weekend!
