week one

Levi's birth worked out perfectly with my mom's spring break. Ben headed back to work right away, and my mom stepped in to help, and boy did she help!

We spent Easter morning at home. The kids enjoyed their Easter baskets and then we went to my brother's house for Easter dinner and an egg hunt.

Colter was doing so well with nursing, we tried out a bottle. Maddie got first dibs because she is absolutely in love with baby brother. He did so well with the bottle and chugged it all right down!

I have a million pictures like this. She just can't get enough of baby brother.

My mom is a constant flurry of activity, literally never sitting down to rest. She was so helpful with making food, shuttling the kids to and from activities, giving me lots of rest/time alone with Levi, keeping up with laundry and cleaning, and the list goes on!

It's amazing to me how life stopped when we had Colter, but with all additional kids, the flurry and craziness of life just keeps on going. Levi has been present for all kinds of activities. lego building, train playing, etc.

After dropping Colter off at school, my mom took Maddie to City Park in Edmonds, where they had a sweet time together.

This is what I did.

The weather was so beautiful that day, we invited my sister's family over for dinner and outside play time.

On Wednesday, I met my mom at Greenlake  after visiting Ben downtown to sign some paperwork. We had a picnic lunch with my sister and her kiddos.

On Thursday I took Levi to get newborn pictures done. Boy was that exhausting! I had no idea how much work went into capturing those perfect little sleeping pictures. Two hours went by before a single picture was taken! Lots of nursing, pooping, spitting up, semi sleeping. Finally he passed out and I'm pretty sure we got several super sweet pictures.

My mom ran some errands with Maddie and then took both kids to Edmonds for some beach time after school.

On Friday we met up with Sam at City Park and had a great time. Colter found a friend at the park and played non stop until it was time to go. My mom helped out with Maddie and Harlow, and Sam and I were able to chat and catch up.

On Saturday, Ben was super ambitious and took the kids to the floating bridge opening, There were a ton of people and it was slightly hectic to navigate the shuttles to and from the event, but now they can say the walked on the world's largest floating bridge!

this is what i did

That afternoon we took the kids to Cromwell park for bike riding, and then I hung out with my sister while Ben and Mark went to a guys night with church. This was such a sweet moment with Harper and Levi.

In the middle of all that activity, this little man slept, ate, and pooped. a lot.

He never seemed to get his night and days mixed up. He loves to be held and loves to eat. The first week we weren't able to set him down at night without him squawking after a few minutes. We each took turns holding him throughout the night. During the day, Levi wants to nurse every 2 hours, and started cluster feeding every afternoon from about 5-9 every night. He's usually up every 3 hours to eat during the night.

Here's to first week survival!
