August round up

Boy have I been a bad, bad blogger! Not that I have many readers, but I like to have this record to reflect back on different seasons of life and all their detail. The fall has brought a lot of structure to our days , and it has been an adjustment for all of us. But before we get there, let's jump back into summer!

At the beginning of the month, we went to see our newest little bean for the first time. Oh yeah, I'm pregnant again :). It has been a while! Because of our lose just a couple months prior, we were both really nervous for the first appointment. Everything had been pretty text book from the beginning, but I still wanted that confirmation. The kids came with us to the appointment , and we were all so excited when a little tiny bean showed up on the screen. It was such a miracle. I was measuring a week behind what I thought I would be, so I still remained a little nervous, but an ultrasound a couple weeks later showed everything was looking good. We are so so thankful for this miracle!

We met up with bens cousin Tamara at the pacific science center. We've never been, and the kids loved it. We only touched on a few of the exhibits, and colter has been asking to come back since! The kids loved the outside water spray area, the live dinosaur exhibit, and the space area. This picture was inside a mock space shuttle command center.

Just a day or two before our trip to Idaho, we found out that the short sale we put an offer on in March was approved. We made the decision, as much as we both didn't want to , to get the house totally ready to list before we left. Which meant a loooot of work in two days. We had already packed a lot of things, but there was still a ton of cleaning, painting, final packing, touch ups to do. Thanks to my sister for coming over on the last night and getting right to work on helping. This was before the staging and the house looked so bare!

I'll blog about our Idaho/Oregon trip on another post, to not overdo the pictures on this post. We spent about 10 days split between coeur d'Alene and hood river.

I didn't take any pictures, but I want to document the whole house selling craziness. Our house listed the last weekend we were on vacation and after one open house and two days of showings, we had 10 offers. We couldn't believe it. We felt like we were ridiculously blessed with how smooth things went overall with this process. I really wanted to pick the couple just about to have their first baby, but in our situation we ended up having to go with the all cash situation. Ben and I went out to a delicious dinner in woodinville to celebrate.

We spent a weekend cabin camping on the Olympic peninsula . I love the cabin camping situation so much. You can be out in nature, but still sleep well! We went to a waterfall one morning and hiked/splashed around. That afternoon Rogan and colter went digging by the river. They seriously dug for hours!!! I wish I had better pictures of their faces. So so dirty!

Pretty emotional to see this sign show up one day.. I'll hopefully get to a house post another time.

So many flooring/paint decisions!

Ben and I had an awesome date night to our friends new bottle shop in edmonds. We brought in a pizza and ate dinner on the deck on a beautiful night!

Colter got sick.. Like sleeping in the middle of the morning sick. It took him a while to bounce back from this one. Not a lot of symptoms, just fever and super lethargic. Lots and lots of show watching.

I took maddie to the farmers market for a little date. I think colter still wasn't feeling great at this point. Poor buddy.

We had a crazy windstorm and a ton of trees were knocked down as a result. Check out these! Our neighbor across the street had a tree fall on their roof and it came through the ceiling into their baby's room. Luckily the baby wasn't hurt but talk about scary!

Checking out dads view.

And that's a wrap! What a wild month of change.. New baby, selling our house, getting ready to move, and next up.. Getting colter ready for school!
