We are so thrilled that my mom decided to make the move up to Seattle. What a legacy she left behind in Arizona. It was so moving to read all of the tributes to her on facebook for the teacher, friend, and person she was to so many people there. The thought crossed my mind of joining her for a leg of her road trip, but I thought it would be too much to leave the kids behind. Ben was so supportive and encouraging of me to take the opportunity, so I jumped on it! It was a whirlwind of a trip and we saw some of the most beautiful scenery!
I flew into Bozeman and we headed straight to Yellowstone. We stopped at a few geyser basins and then finished the night at Old Faithful.
We stayed at the southern part of the park, so the next day we decided to drive around Lake Yellowstone and through the canyon/waterfall area. It was absolutely breathtaking. I enjoyed the geysers, but I almost liked the lake and scenery the 2nd day better! We made it all the way to Couer d'Alene that night. It was the perfect night. We walked around the boardwalk, soaking in the sunshine, boaters, and time together.
We made great time the third day and made it to Seattle by early afternoon. We thought we would kick off the summer right with a family beach dinner!
I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to have my mom here. We are going to make so many memories! Love you mom!
