Takin the plunge into 2012

Today we (actually Ben) had one of those moments where we did something we said we'd never do. A few years back, Ben and I stood on the shore of Lake Washington nice and warm while we watched seemingly crazy people run without question into the frigid water. We didn't understand the draw, and we left saying that it wasn't something we were interested in.

Fast forward to 2012, and Ben decided that he did in fact want to participate in the annual polar bear plunge. He recruited a couple friends to go with him and had a blast. We were blessed with some nice sunshine before he ran in. He came out with a smile on his face and said that it wasn't near as cold as he expected it to be. He got a polar bear patch and said that he wants to made this an annual tradition.

As far me, I really enjoyed being warm on the shore taking pictures. :)

Before the "plunge"

It's always funny to hear yourself on video... just in case you didn't catch it "I didn't see them"

Emerging with smiles, always a good sign.

Survived the plunge!

well...That is one way to wake up to the new year. Now they are ready to take on any challenge of 2012.
How fun....Maybe they should try Chicago next year.
