I was so excited when I found out that pioneer woman was coming to Seattle.. Lake Forest Park for that matter! I ordered my cookbook and was all set to go. I had been to the bookstore for a signing before so I felt confident as I waltzed in and knew exactly where the line started for the signing. I saw women EVERYWHERE.. yet only 2 girls were in line. I thought to myself "does everyone not know to line up?" I called my sister excitedly talking loudly "I'm 3rd in line! I can't believe it!" As I was talking, I noticed a ticket stub sticking out of one of the other girls' book. I got off the phone and asked if I needed a ticket.. they probably felt so bad for me, knowing how many people were in front of me.
I casually stepped out of line and headed up to the counter for a ticket. I was handed a ticket with an H on it. The person said "there are 50 people to a group so.... you have a while." I walked away trying to calculate how many ppl ahead of me that meant... 350? is that right??? I quickly called my sister back and broke the bad news.. we'd be here for a while.
We tried to remain positive and waited around for a while.. it took over an hour for the first group to go and we started to get discouraged. We might have even timed how long it took one person to get through the line and discovered if our calculations were correct, we'd be there for over 4 hours. We bombed. YES, we bombed!! I walked away from the opportunity to meet the woman that makes pictures of butter and onion look like a masterpiece.
tear.. i'm just going to have to dry my tears while eating a whole pan of her cinnamon rolls.
