January tidbits

We decided to take a day trip up to Bellingham to visit the Ericsons and check out the railroad museum. I decided last minute to take the kids on the amtrak and have Ben meet us up there with the car. Colter was absolutely mesmerized the entire trip. He looked out the window, counted crossings, looked at the signal lights and scenery. Maddie enjoyed it as well, but took a little more work entertaining her.

The railroad museum was awesome! They had 2 different model train lay outs and older kids could even use the remote to drive some of the trains. We will definitely be back!

We went on a double date with the Wornicks to the new Starbucks Roastery and then for dessert at a pie shop in Capitol Hill. So fun to squeeze in some quality time before little man arrives!

The kids love the fish at the library

Every so often we stop to play at a little park near our house. It has a great red fence that I always want to use for pics and I finally got some!

A fun Sunday swim/dinner at Nanas

Our neighbors/friends got a trampoline for Christmas and we've been down to jump a few times.

We had a spectacular trip to the zoo . Probably my favorite ever. The sun was shining and the zoo was empty! We even got to see an elephant get a bath.. pretty much the cutest thing ever!

We met Ben in Edmonds and enjoyed the incredible sunset.

This girl...

These two have an amazing bond. They are silly, sweet, and have the best laughing fits together.

I threw a shower for my dear friend Sam, who is pregnant with baby Jack. She has some different dietary restrictions, so it was fun to think outside the regular shower food and try some new recipes. My favorite was guacamole in plantain cups. Yum! The shower was the same day as a Seahawks playoff game.. it was pretty stressful with a crazy ending!

My friend Annie offered to let us ride her pony Cinnamon. Maddie loved it so much she cried when she had to get off. We stopped off at Brier Park on our way home.

I dont like to stay home very often, but when we do, we usually have a really good time. This was one of those days.

Shaving cream in a bathtub = a whole lot of fun. And yes, my kids wear their life vests every bath time.. their choice

I got to take Maddie on a little date to the Snohomish aquatic center and then to walk around downtown Snohomish. Colter and Ben went to the boat show downtown and they both returned home with big plans to buy a boat!

Mr. Finley finally decided to make is appearance! Kelsey rocked it after 3 days of prelabor contractions. It was an absolute miracle to witness his birth.

We went to check in on Felix and gave him some cuddle time.

I took the kids to the treatment plant and met up with some friends for some great fun. We hiked up this hill all the way to the top. I was so proud of all the kids for making it up with no stroller! I love when the kids settle in and really enjoy themselves with their friends. The facility is incredible!

We had a pretty rocky morning that left me in tears. There's something about the sun and open spaces that can instantly change that. We went to this little park, fed some ducks, and regrouped. We left a LOT happier!

Gigi and Grandpa came to visit us and we started off their visit with dinner at a tasty pizza restaurant.

The next day we drove to Snohomish so I could show the rest of the fam how sweet of a town it is! We started at the pie company for some amazing cookies and pie, and then stumbled upon a random festival with music and balloons. We danced around for a while and then went down to the river and walked along the walkway.

That's a wrap folks!
