4th of July

Happy 4th of July! I feel like Washington is one of the best places ever to celebrate the 4th of July. We had perfect weather yet again and had such a blast celebrating our country's independence. We started off the day in Edmonds for the parade and beach time. I wrote about it and shared pictures here.

In the afternoon we continued our celebration with our friends. Ben went over to the Tuttles the night before and put a pork shoulder on the smoker. It was insanely good. Everyone brought such amazing food.. I think I filled my plate at least 3 times.

We did some fireworks even though it was still light out so the kids could enjoy them.

You will find my child running through the smoke bombs and stomping on snakes.

We lit some more fireworks once it was dark and that was the start of a very very long night. Colter has slept through the fireworks around our neighborhood for the past two years, but this time it was a different story. Poor guy was up at least 5 times. It felt like a war zone all around us. I have to remind myself that it's just one day out of the year!

I truly truly LOVE the 4th of July. It's such a perfect opportunity to celebrate with family and friends.
