wrapping up the rest of November!

I'm sure several of you faithful readers are tired of coming to our blog and seeing the hip hop dance, so I thought I'd update you on what we have been up to as of late!

I'm not sure how much the "Seattle snow disaster of 2010" aired on the news around the country, but Seattle had pretty much non stop news coverage for about 12 hours straight. Talking about the 3 inches we got seemed pretty silly, until both Ben and I had a horrible commute home on Monday night. It took Ben about 3 hours to get home, including a stop to put on his chains with no gloves or heavy coat, while wearing dress slacks and dress shoes. I had another adventure. I almost made it home until a car stopped in front of me, causing me to get stuck on an icy hill. I'm just a little bit emotional during this pregnancy, so after mustering up the idea to turn on my hazards, I just sat in my car on the hill balling. Fortunately, this family stopped, helped me get to the side of the road and drove me close to our house.. I'm sure I surprised the man when I rolled down my window and blubbered "I'm sorry, I'm really emotional, I'm pregnant." I did get to ride in the back of my neighbor's sheriff car the rest of the way home which was a highlight!

Since we last updated, we had a few visitors come and stay with us! Ben's parents flew in the Sat. before Thanksgiving. We had fun going to the Theo chocolate tour, trekking down to Ikea to get the little one a bookcase for his room, shopping for Thanksgiving (ok maybe going to Costco the Sat. before Thanksgiving wasn't awesome), and just spending time together.

My sister and Mark went on an adventure of a lifetime to Iceland starting on Tuesday, so we also helped out my mom take care of the little ones until they returned home on Sunday afternoon.

We packed in quite a bit to those few days- Lots of visits to the garage to ride the scooter and bike:

Watching the Thanksgiving parade:

Thanksgiving with the Rikalos- a blessing to share the day with family and friends!

a trip downtown to check out the gingerbread houses:

A visit to St. Nicks to get our Christmas tree:

Saturday night we went to the Edmonds tree lighting with our friends. I love feeling a part of a small community!

We are loving having lights on our tree and on the outside of our house.. it feels so festive!! Love this time of year!!
