Little Lady turns 1

I will never forget the night that I learned that Little Lady was in fact going to be a Little Lady. My sister and Mark went to their ultrasound and then out to dinner, where they opened the card from the ultrasound tech and found out they were expecting a girl. My sister and I have always wanted a little girl, so when I opened up the card and saw the border of pink footprints, I jumped up and down with excitement! I spent the next few months fighting the urge to buy every pink thing in sight while we prepared for little Saisha Jane's arrival.

I will also never forget the night Saisha was born. Because she was delivered via c-section, I remember looking at the clock trying to imagine if she was born yet. Finally we got the call that she was here and I frantically pulled up their blog to see a glimpse. She was beautiful.

There is something so special about being an aunty and having the privilege to live close and to watch James and Saisha's personalities develop. I love that Saisha is so sensitive, calm and sweet, yet she loves James' cars with a passion and can play with a sword for hours on end. I can't wait to watch her tender heart grow as she develops into a woman.

We celebrated her life on Saturday at what should be the Heavilands private park because it seems like no one else knows about it! We had a blast playing with the kids, drinking italian sodas, and eating an obsene amount of spicy jalapeno popper dip. Ben also got a major ab workout in by doing about 1,000 underdogs for James.

We got her a jazzy stroller and a little tutu.

We love you little lady girl!
