Hood River

After Sunriver, we spent the last part of our vacation in Hood River. This place never gets old, no matter how many times we go. We invited my mom to stay with us for the weekend, and it was fun to show her around a place we love so much.

We started our time at our favorite park.

We stayed with Courtney's mom, who was an amazingly gracious host. Colter fell in love with the dogs and wanted to carry the little dog all over the house.

The next day we did all of our favorite things.. the beach, pizza at Andrews, and a beautiful woods walk with the dogs.

On our way out of town we stopped at Starvation Creek waterfall. Such a breathtaking place

I hope we can keep going to this place year after year. What a special place it is to us!

sunriver

We had the BEST vacation at the beginning of the month. It was seriously the perfect mix of activities for our family. It felt almost like a staycation, but in a new place. I can't recommend sunriver enough for families with kids. It was the best! Affordable, tons to do, and such a beautiful place!

Our house for the week.. we found it off vrbo. It was around the price of a hotel room and it had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, ping pong table, bikes, grill, hot tub, and a beautiful deck.

We immediately took advantage of the beautiful weather and the deck and ate dinner outside the first night.

Our first day we went exploring at a nearby river, and then went on a bike ride to a nearby park. I learned that although beach cruisers were super cute, they are not fun to ride on hills. What a work out!

We introduced Colter to the hot tub and he loved it. Our hot tub dips became nightly occurrences.

I was so excited to take the kids, especially Colter to the village after reading that there was a train ride and an inflatable area. It was such a fun time!

We ventured out of the village one day and went on a short waterfall hike. We learned that walking for a mile is about Colter's max , but we made it!

That night Ben took Colter back to the park and had some good 1 on 1 time

We also ate some yummy smores over the grill!

We ventured into Bend and fell in love with the city. Such amazing parks, cute little shops and beautiful scenery.

That afternoon we went on another long bike ride along the river and through a beautiful meadow by the airport. We finished the night at a delicious pizza shop.

On our last day, we went back to the aquatics center because it was so awesome. We could have spent every day here and still had an awesome vacation.

Wow, what a week! Such a special time with my fam. I wish every day was a vacation day :)
